OnlyLocksmith, of 6 Inglemere Grove, Birmingham, B29 4HB, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and in the course of providing locksmith services. You can contact us on 07342 374346.
This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It is written to meet the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
When you call us. Your name, telephone number, the address where work is needed, and a description of the problem. If you ask us to attend, we also record what work was done and what was fitted.
Proof of entitlement. Before opening a lock we check evidence that you are entitled to enter. We record that a check was carried out and what type of document was seen. We do not photograph or retain copies of identity documents.
When you use this website. This site has no contact form and no login. If you consent to analytics, we collect anonymised usage data — pages viewed, approximate region, device type, and whether you tapped the phone number. If you do not consent, none of that is collected.
We do not collect special category data and we do not buy or sell personal data.
Contract. Your name, number, address and job details are needed to carry out work you have asked for.
Legal obligation. Invoices and records of work are kept to meet tax and accounting requirements.
Legitimate interests. Recording that an entitlement check was made protects property owners and protects us against misuse of the service.
Consent. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only if you accept them. You can withdraw that at any time by clearing cookies for this site and declining when asked again.
No analytics or advertising cookies are set when you arrive. A banner asks whether you accept them, and nothing beyond a small record of your choice is stored unless you do.
If you accept, Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies are used to measure which pages and areas produce calls. These are set by Google, which acts as a processor for analytics and in its own right for advertising. Google may transfer data outside the UK under approved safeguards.
Declining has no effect on the site. Everything works identically either way.
Our accountant, for invoicing and tax records. Our hosting provider, which stores the website files and standard server logs. Google, only where you have accepted analytics or advertising cookies.
We will disclose information where we are legally required to, including to the police where a matter is being investigated.
We do not share your details with marketing companies or lead generators.
Job records and invoices: six years, as required for tax purposes.
Records of entitlement checks: two years.
Call enquiries that did not lead to work: twelve months.
Analytics data: fourteen months, then deleted automatically.
You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased where we no longer need it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting anything done before.
Contact us on 07342 374346 and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, tell us first and we will try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Job records are held on password-protected systems with access limited to those who need it. This website is served over HTTPS.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be highlighted on the page.
